Virginia Tsapaki has 27 years of experience in Medical Physics in Diagnostic, Computed Tomography (CT) and Interventional Cardiology and Radiology as well as Nuclear Medicine. She is leading the medical physics department at the Konstantopoulio General Hospital of Athens, Greece. She has 135 publications, in SCI journals (67 papers) and national and international journals as well as conference proceedings. More than 200 presentations and posters in national and international conferences and over 50 invited lectures around the world in international conferences and workshops. She has participated in multiple European projects such as the ENEN+ project, Clinical DRLs, BSS Transposition, EUTEMPE-RX, PiDRL, ENETRAP, EMAN, DOSEDATAMED II, SENTINEL, DIMOND II and III European research projects, as well as IAEA projects. Member of Organizing, Scientific Committee, International Advisory Committee or chair of various international conferences. Editorial member of the European Journal of Medical physics (EJMP) and Medical Physics International. Section editor of the Hellenic Radiology Journal. Quest editor of 2 special issues of EJMP and editorial board member since January 2018. Honorary Editor of IOMP eMPW. IOMP Fellow in 2016. International Day of Medical Physics Award 2017.She is the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) Secretary General from 2015 until today and former IOMP e Medical Physics World Newsletter IOMP website subcommittee chair. She has founded the IOMP Women SubCommittee, which she chairs until today. She was also involved within the European Federation for Organizations for Medical Physics (EFOMP) by chairing the EFOMP Communication and Publication Committee and the Projects Committee. She was President of the Hellenic Association of Medical Physicists (HAMP) for six years.
